Catlos Featured At SC4's Spiral Gallery At Studio 1219

St. Clair County Community College’s Spiral Gallery at Studio 1219 in Port Huron will be featuring the work of SC4 alumna Carolyn Catlos of Detroit from June 1 through 30. Catlos’ show, titled “Under the Microscope,” will feature mixed media work including imagery and sculpture, fiber, ceramic and fine metal pieces related to the topic of research in cell biology.  Catlos graduated from SC4 in 2008 with an associate in arts degree. She is a student at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, where she is pursuing a bachelor of fine arts in crafts.  A show opening is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 1.  Catlos also will be featured as an “SC4 Artist in Action” from 5 to 7 p.m. each Friday in June. The “SC4 Artist in Action” takes place in the first-floor display window of Studio 1219. Studio visitors will be able to watch Catlos work and talk about art.  Each month, the work of an SC4 art instructor or alumni artist is featured in the Spiral Gallery.  Studio 1219 hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
