I have been away from my desk for a few days volunteering for an organization called Joni and Friends. They have a ministry to special needs people all across the nation. It was my privilege to provide boat rides to many wonderful special needs people and their families. So many of the families I met faced financial, emotional and health setbacks far beyond what most of us can imagine. Yet, they all had an inner strength greater than I can fathom. I never heard a single complaint, only gratitude for the joy they and their special needs family members experienced as we cruised around the lake. Over and over I asked, “How do you manage?” Over and over the answer was, “By the grace of God.”
