Local Kiwanis Club Holds Breakfast At Dockside On Race Day
July 6th, 2012

The Blue Water Area Kiwanis Club will hold its annual Breakfast at Dockside on Saturday, July 14, 2012 as part of the Port Huron to Mackinac Yacht Race festivities.  The all you can eat breakfast will be held in underneath the Talmer Bank building on the banks of the Black River in downtown Port Huron.  Breakfast will be served from 6:30 am – 10:00 am.   The location is right next to where the largest boats in the fleet are docked.  It’s a great venue to watch the parade of boats as they leave the Black River for the starting line.   Tickets for the breakfast can be purchased at the door.  Costs are $6 for adults, $4 for children 5 – 12 years old.  Children under five are free.  The club has been sponsoring the breakfast on Mackinac Race mornings for nearly 20 years.  Proceeds from the breakfast help to support the Blue Water Kiwanis Club children’s programs.  The club helps finance local children’s initiatives such as the St. Clair County RESA Homeless Youth program, St. Clair County Children’s Library youth programs, SONS, local boy and girl scout troops, Eastern Michigan Youth for Christ, and many others.  The Blue Water Kiwanis Clubs invites those interested in helping to meet the needs of local children to join.  The club meets every Thursday morning at 7:00 at Denny’s Restaurant located at 24th Avenue and Krafft Road in Fort Gratiot.
