
The Benefits of Animal Therapy & Service Animals Workshop

St. Clair County Community Mental Health is hosting a brown bag lunch workshop titled “The Benefits of Animal Therapy & Service Animals” on Thursday, July 12th from noon – 1:00 p.m. at 3111 Electric Avenue in Port Huron. Fitzwilliam, a therapy dog, with owner Michelle Measel-Morris and Wisper, a service dog, and owners Shannon and Noah Greene will be the featured presenters. This workshop will detail the benefits that Animal Assisted Therapy Dogs can provide in improving overall health (both physical and emotional) for individuals in nursing homes. It will also address how service dogs can assist children in becoming more independent and confident even when faced with a developmental disability. This event is free and open to the public.
