Beaches Reopened

Record high temperature set at Detroit, Michigan yesterday of 102 degrees.
This breaks the old record of 101 set in 1887.  Due to the lack of rain, along with high temperatures, a swimming advisory was issued for six local public beaches. 

 Conger/Lighthouse beach – Holland Road beach -Lakeside beach -Krafft Road – Port Huron – Keewadhin Road in Fort Gratiot – and Lakeport State Park Campground beach, Lakeport have all been reopened.   Testing today has found bacteria levels in compliance with standards for safe swimming.  For more information, call the health department’s Water Quality Hotline at (877) 504-7946, join the St. Clair County Beaches Facebook page, download the free MyBeachCast application for smartphones or visit the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality BeachGuard website at www.deq.state.mi.us/beach.
