81st District and Cottrellville Township Show Political Heat
July 27th, 2012
Michael Zoran is running for Trustee in Cottrellville Township, as well as being a precinct delegate candidate. Zoran has made allegations against current Township Supervisor Tom Raymond who is running as a republican in the State Representative for the 81st district. Zoran says his allotted time for speaking at township meetings was illegally cut short on a number of occasions, and that Raymond spoke unprofessionally to him when demanding Zoran stop video taping meetings. Not letting people speak their full amount of time at an open public meeting is a serious offense – a misdemeanor according to the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
Fox 2 news did a report, speaking with both men, which can be viewed online:
Raymond defends his actions, saying he didn’t behave poorly. Nothing he said was as “bad as how sailor’s talk”, was his response. Zoran is urging residents in the 81st district who would like to change their absentee ballot, to do so by going to the township hall, and saying your ballot needs to be “spoiled”, then request a new Absentee ballot.
