Robin Schweihofer featured at the Spiral Gallery
August 3rd, 2012
St. Clair County Community College’s Spiral Gallery at Studio 1219 in Port Huron will be featuring the work of SC4 student Robin Schweihofer of Marysville from all this month. The show will feature multimedia pieces, including ceramics and graphic art. A show opening is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. tonight. Schweihofer also will be featured as an “SC4 Artist in Action” from 5 to 7 p.m. each Friday in August. The “SC4 Artist in Action” takes place in the first-floor display window of Studio 1219. Studio visitors will be able to watch him work and talk about art. Schweihofer studied communication design at SC4. He plans to transfer to Wayne State University to pursue his bachelor of fine arts in ceramics. For two years, he created digital designs for posters of many SC4 arts events, including the Thursday at Noon Concert Series, SC4 Symphonic Band concerts, theatrical productions and art shows. In 2011, he won the Patrick Bourke Award through SC4’s Patterns student literary and arts magazine for his poster work. He teaches ceramics at Studio 1219 in Port Huron. This summer, he is creating a mural for the Salvation Army’s Thrift Store in Port Huron as well. Each month, the work of an SC4 art instructor or alumni artist is featured in the Spiral Gallery.
