Dearborn Pastor Suspended
August 9th, 2012

The pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Dearborn was suspended on Monday of this week after the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit learned he had been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving – in the nude.  The archdiocese issued a statement Tuesday saying the Rev. Peter Petroske, 57, had been placed on administrative leave.  The priest was arrested in the early hours Friday just about a block from the church on Michigan Avenue with a blood alcohol level just over the limit at which one can be convicted of drunken driving.  Reports say he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and indecent exposure.  A laptop computer was also found in the vehicle.  Sacred Heart Parish is Dearborn’s second-largest Catholic church, with some 1,900 member families; Petroske has been pastor since 2008.
