Attorney Gary Fletcher confirmed to WGRT that the closing on the building has been completed and the Thomas Edison Inn, now has a new owner, namely JB Development.   As of last Wednesday, August 15, the Convention Center project has had all the paperwork completed, and all parties are eligible to begin their work.    Baker College is expected to “get their shovels in the ground” quickly, – Orion Construction is ready to begin remodeling the Thomas Edison Inn into a Hilton Garden Inn  that will be managed by Hospitality Specialists Inc., and the county will begin with their work on the layout plans for the convention center.  Fletcher says this has been a difficult and long project and he is glad to have it completed.
