
Arraingment Taking Place Today

A 40-year-old Westland man will see arraignment today on charges after he led police on a chase Tuesday. According to reports, the man is facing charges of fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing a police officer, and driving with a suspended license and is expected to be charged as a habitual fourth offender. The man is being held at the St. Clair County jail pending his arraignment with bond set at $10,000. Police reports state the chase began about 3 p.m. Tuesday when the Westland man drove a car at a speed of 95 mph on eastbound Interstate 94 at Wadhams Road, exited onto Gratiot Avenue and eventually abandoned his car in a driveway on Gratiot Avenue. A Port Huron police dog tracked the man and he was arrested. A passenger in the vehicle, 28-year-old Taylor woman, was arrested and released. She is expected to be charged with providing false information to a police officer.
