Gregory Vanestee

A Capac councilman charged with criminal sexual conduct has been bound over to St. Clair County Circuit Court.  Gregory VanNeste was bound over on a number of criminal sexual conduct counts.  VanNeste was originally charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, felonious assault and felony firearm – two more counts were added at the preliminary examination.  District Judge Cynthia Platzer presided over the proceeding which was held in a closed courtroom yesterday.  Judge Platzer allowed one person to remain in the courtroom to support the 15 year old victim who testified, as well as one police officer.
