Brush And Branch Collection
September 14th, 2012

The City of Port Huron’s large brush and branch collection program will resume on September 17th and run through October 26, 2012.  This program is for larger sized brush and branches that do not meet Waste Management’s yard waste program requirements.  Large brush and branch piles will be picked up upon phone request only.

 Guidelines for the program:

Stack all brush and branches neatly between the curb and sidewalk with cut ends facing the street.  Do not mix brush pile with other items such as leaves, grass clippings, building materials, timbers, railroad ties or commercial contractor-generated tree waste.  Workers will not remove mixed piles. Piles must be clear of any overhead obstructions, low wires, branches or overhangs.  Keep brush piles away from fire hydrants or other stationery ground objects. To schedule a brush and branch pickup, you must call 810-987-6000, give your name, address and phone number.  Calls will be taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week beginning September 17th. You may also email the Forestry Department at hickeyt@porthuron.org   Changing weather conditions and large volumes may cause delays.   For further information regarding the brush and branch collection program, please refer to the Parks/Forestry Department of the City of Port Huron’s web site at www.porthuron.org.

Please be aware that if brush piles contain unacceptable items, they will not be picked up.
