October 3rd, 2012

The Blue Water Convention and Visitors Bureau will have a new address as of next Monday. Marci Fogel of the bureau, told WGRT that they are packing up the computers and office equipment Thursday and expect Friday to be a big moving day.  The goal is to be completely moved in and open for business on Monday, October 8th.  The bureau is moving from their current location at 520 Thomas Edison Blvd. to 405 Water Street, Suite 100 (in the old SEMCO building).  The move comes just after the selling of many of the furnishings of the Thomas Edison Inn, as the new owners of that property prepare to refurbish and remodel the Inn into a Hilton Double Tree Hotel.   Included in the project will be a Twisted Rooster restaurant, along with a 45,000-square-foot convention center and  Baker College of Port Huron’s new Culinary Institute of Michigan campus with student housingPlease join the Community Foundation and our Blue Water Land Fund, along with Senator Debbie Stabenow, Congresswoman Candice Miller, and other federal, state and local officials, as we celebrate the progress of the Blue Water River Walk and recognize our partners in this project.
