Car Chase Ends With Three In Custody

A car chase that began with New Baltimore Police attempting to stop a possible stolen auto, ended with three men in custody in the 6100 block of Lakeshore Road early Monday morning.  According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, Deputies were contacted about 2:50 a.m. about a car chase that was heading eastbound on I-94 from Chesterfield Township.  Officers from Chesterfield Police were continuing a chase that began in New Baltimore with what was believed to be a stolen Dodge Magnum out of Warren.  Deputies observed the vehicle in the area of I-94 and Fred Moore Highway and began pursuit.  The vehicle continued eastbound.  Port Huron Police Department was notified and stop sticks were set up by officers near the Water Street exit.  The stop sticks were effective and a tire on the suspect vehicle was deflated.  The driver of the vehicle continued to flee, heading northbound on Pine Grove Avenue, 24th Avenue and then Lakeshore Road.  The vehicle finally stopped in the 6100 block of Lakeshore, where the three occupants jumped out and fled on foot.  All three were apprehended a short time later by Sheriff’s Office Deputies.    The three men, ages 26, 27 and 30 from Detroit are currently being held at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center on charges of fleeing and eluding and Resisting and Obstructing.  The three will also be facing charges in Macomb County.
