Patrols On Look Out For Drunk Drivers
October 26th, 2012
If you drink and drive in Michigan – you will pay the price. The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning says that 60 agencies in 15 counties are conducting extra patrols, now through October 31st. They say they’re stepping up patrols aimed at stopping drunken drivers during the week leading up to Halloween. These patrols are supported by federal traffic safety funds. Agencies participating in the effort are in Allegan, Calhoun, Berrien, Chippewa, Genesee, Ingham, Jackson, Kent, Macomb, Marquette, Monroe, Ottawa, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. Last year, officers reported arresting 261 drunken drivers the weekend before Halloween.
