Preliminary Hearing Set For Assault/Intent To Commit Murder Suspect

Arraignment has taken place for  35 year old Richard Daniel Clay on charges of assault with intent to commit murder and being a habitual offender.  A  preliminary hearing for Clay of Port Huron, is scheduled for Nov. 27. Bond was set at $150,000.  It is reported that police responded shortly after 1:00 a.m. Saturday to the 2800 block of 15th Avenue in Port Huron for a report of two men arguing. When officers arrived on scene, they found Clay with self-inflicted cuts, claiming to be the victim of an attack.  Police found a 30-year-old Port Huron man in the basement of the residence. He had cuts from a box cutter and was bleeding severely.  Police arrested Clay. Both men were taken to the hospital for their injuries Saturday morning.
