November 27th, 2012

Chief Michael Reaves

Officials held training exercises in Fort Gratiot yesterday.  The Port Huron Police Department Special Response Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team trained at a home in the 4800 block of Lakeshore Road from noon until 4 p.m.  The training included role playing and the use of diversionary implements and tactics. People in the area could hear sounds like firecrackers during the training. However, no live rounds or live gun fire were used.  According to the department there were some 12 officers  participating in the training.  Signage and a command staff on scene  indicated the area  used for the exercise
