Three-car Crash Causes One Death
December 10th, 2012
A three car crash has claimed the life of one person. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, a 72 year old Kimball Township woman was westbound on Lapeer Road shortly before noon Friday, waiting to make a left hand turn into the Lakes Subdivision, just west of Abbotsford Road. As she was waiting, her vehicle was struck in the rear by a car driven by a 34 year old Fort Gratiot woman. That collision sent the 72 year old woman’s vehicle into the eastbound lane of traffic, where it was struck by a vehicle driven by a 51 year old Port Huron Township man. The Kimball Township woman was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to Port Huron Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The others involved in the crash received minor injuries and did not require transport to the hospital. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Kimball Township Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene.
