A local church is mourning the death of their pastor who died as the result of what appears to have been a heart attack while on a trip to Nicaragua.  Rev. The Mercer family and Hillside Wesleyan were informed of the unexpected tragedy in the early hours yesterday.  Along with serving as a local pastor, Rev. Mercer was  one of two assistant district superintendents for the East Michigan District of The Wesleyan Church and he served as the church health & fitness director for the district.   According to the churches website, Reverend Dave has pastored for over 28 years. He loved people had a passion for communicating the truths of the Bible.  He loved to read, sing, listen to music, and work out at the gym.  He leaves behind his wife, Renee, and four children, Whitley, Ethan, Isaac and Josiah.
