
Michigan Native Joins MSU-Extension And District

Andrew Northrop, a native to Michigan, has joined MSU-Extension and District 10 as their Community & Economic Development Educator. Andrew brings several combined years of both international and national experience in sustainable community and economic development as well as education to the counties of Lapeer, St. Clair, Sanilac, Huron, and Tuscola. As part of the Greening Michigan Institute & MSU-Extension Andrew aims to work directly with community & economic initiatives to spur economic growth, innovation, and sustain community prosperity within Michigan’s “thumb”. Andrew holds a Masters in Sustainable Development from SIT Graduate Institute, and is an alum from Michigan State University as well, with Bachelor studies in Psychology and Community Development. Andrew is currently pursuing certifications in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Oregon and another in Community Development from Village Earth and Colorado State University.
