Comments On Port Huron Train Bridge Being Accepted
December 13th, 2012
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting public comment through Jan. 9 about the Port Huron Yacht Club’s application to remove the Port Huron train bridge. The club purchased the train bridge, along with the 3.3 acres where it sits, in December of last year. According to an application, the yacht club is planning to sell the bridge for scrap after it is removed from the property and they wish to build a new 64 by 32 foot deck with enclosed railings. Some residents say this is a historic piece of property and they wish to see it preserved. Comment will be accepted either by mail or email. Those wishing to comment, must the designated File number, LRE-1929-150020-S12.
