Sting Operation Brings Citations

On Thursday December 13, 2012 the Port Huron Police Department conducted a sting operation focusing on underage sales of alcohol to minors. This sting operation was initiated based upon complaints of sales of alcohol to under age persons within the city of Port Huron.  During the sting operation police sent underage decoys into Seventeen (17) businesses that were licensed by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. (11 stores and 6 Bars) From the sting operation the police found two businesses violating their licenses by selling alcohol to minors.  During the operation, A&G liquor Store located at 1921 Griswold was found to NOT to be in compliance with LCC rules. A citation was issued for selling alcohol to minors (2 counts). The Military Street music café located at 1102 Military Street was also found NOT to be in compliance, a citation was issued for selling alcohol to two minors.  The Port Huron Police Department would like to thank all of the licensed establishments who were found to be in compliance with the Michigan liquor Commission rules and encourage all establishments to check Id’s to prevent underage drinking.
