Give To The YMCA
December 28th, 2012
As you make your decisions on year-end gifts, your support of your local YMCA can ensure that the programs and services of the Y are available in 2013. The Y touches more than 15,000 people a year through their programs and services. More than 6,200 are children under the age of 18 through programs such as The Y’s “Homework, Food and Fun” a free program designed to address success in the classroom, build college awareness, provide a nutritious meal and engage kids in a diverse range of positive values-based recreation activities. The program is offered in partnership with SONS and is made possible through support from AT&T through the Community Foundation of St. Clair County, Port Huron Rotaryand Cargill Salt, as well as donations from the community. There is still time to make a donation that is being matched dollar for every dollar raised up to $50,000 by an anonymous donor. YMCA spokespeople say they have about $10,000 to go to make that $50,000 into $100,000. You can call the Y or go online to make your donation.
