
Silver Sticks In Port Huron

The 51st annual Port Huron International Silver Stick finals began yesterday at McMorran Place, Glacier Pointe, Polar Palace in Lapeer and Suburban Ice in Macomb. Faceoffs in the earliest games are scheduled for 2 p.m. This is the first of two weekends of the tournament and it will feature the PeeWee AAA and Bantam AAA divisions. The tournament runs through Sunday, with the PeeWee finals at 1:30 p.m. and the Bantam finals at 3:30 p.m. Silver Stick is a tournament that started in Ottawa, ONT and has grown into one of the biggest and best youth hockey tournaments in North America. Authorities say 65 teams will be on hand, including most of the best hockey programs in the United States and Ontario. There is not cost to attend the games.
