SC4 To Present Beatrice Thornton Student Art Exhibition

Beatrice Thornton Art Show 2011

St. Clair County Community College will present the 45th annual Beatrice Thornton Student Art Exhibition in February and March on the college’s Port Huron campus.  Art teachers from all St. Clair County schools have been invited to choose student work for the exhibition, which is free to the public.  The exhibition will be split into two shows, both in SC4’s Fine Arts Galleries. Elementary school art will be in the first show. Middle school and high school art will be in the second show.  Hours for both shows will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with special hours from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday.  Below are show details.

·         Elementary school art show — Feb. 1 through 22. An reception will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7.

·         Middle school and high school art show — March 1 through April 1. (The galleries will be closed Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16.) A reception will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 7. The reception also will feature an open house with SC4 faculty and students available to answer questions about SC4 art programs and facilities.

St. Clair County students who are home-schooled and want to display art can call Karen Jezewski by Thursday, Jan. 24, at (810) 989-5709 to have their work considered for the exhibition.
