Subcommittees Eliminated To Streamline Operations
February 8th, 2013
This week, at the organizational meeting of the Committee on House Administration for the 113thCongress, Committee Chair Candice Miller, R-Mich., announced the elimination of the Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and its Subcommittee on Elections for the purpose of streamlining Committee operations. At the conclusion of the Committee meeting, Miller issued the following statement: “Charged with oversight of House operations as well as this nation’s electoral process, this Committee’s success is vital to the most fundamental aspect of our Democracy – representation. That’s why I have decided to streamline our oversight and bring all matters before the full Committee.“In today’s fiscal environment, consolidation and cost cutting are not optional. However, through greater use of technology and cost-effective solutions, I believe that we can reduce overhead while maintaining the most efficient, transparent and inclusive processes. “I welcome the challenges ahead and look forward to a productive 113th Congress working alongside my colleagues.”
