Meteorologists are keeping a close eye on a  storm that is moving out of the Rockies and headed to our area late Tuesday.  Forecasters say all of southeast Michigan will be preparing for a storm that could bring the potential of 6 or more inches of snow with snowfall rates at an inch or more an hour.  They say several inches of wet, heavy snow is expected late Tuesday into Wednesday morning with the northern suburbs having the best chance of seeing 6” or more of total snowfall and possibly more.  The one variable that might limit snow totals is some rain as the storm first approaches. But heavy bands of snow into Tuesday night are expected to drop as much as 3-6” or more across the area.  In the meantime looks like a pretty nice Monday before the storm moves in. Mostly cloudy to start the day but the clouds will be moving out and the sun will be in and out most of the daylight hours Monday. Highs will reach upper 30s after morning lows in the upper teens to low 20s.  The storm on Tuesday is not expected to begin until the afternoon hours with temperatures in the mid 30s and the chance for rain – changing to periods of heavy snow.
