Sam Bennett’s Gallery Show - Sell Your Identity:
February 27th, 2013
Sell Your Identity: A borrowed ladder will be hosted at Studio 12919. Sam grew up creating art locally and recently graduated from Kendal School of Art and Design with a degree in painting. Bennett’s international experiences allowed him to study his craft and hone his skills as well as broaden both his artistic and cultural horizons, and he shares that through his work. Stylistically Bennett identifies Gerhardt Richter, the German visual artist famous for both his abstract and photorealistic pieces. Authorities at the gallery say, the influence is unmistakable in some of Bennett’s oil works where he combines Richter’s two distinct styles into a unique new style that is all his own. The public is invited to the opening reception scheduled for Friday, March 8th from 6 to 8 p.m. this event is free to the public. The works will be on display at Studio 1219 through March 30.
