Sheriff Tim Donnellon

A 37 year old Washington Township woman is in custody following a crash in Clyde Township late Tuesday afternoon.   According to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, the woman was driving southbound on Vincent Road, south of Walker Road, when her vehicle was struck nearly head-on by a vehicle driven by 30 year old Matthew Schott of Croswell, who lost control of his vehicle on slushy roads.  During investigation of the crash, it was determined the woman was intoxicated.  She was treated at the scene of the crash by EMS personnel, then transported to the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center. The passenger in her vehicle, a 49 year old man from Croswell, was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to Port Huron Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  Schott was cited for speed to fast for conditions.  He was also transported to Port Huron Hospital by Tri-Hospital EMS with non-life threatening injuries.  The woman is expected to be arraigned today in Port Huron 72nd District Court on charges of operating while intoxicated.  Fort Gratiot Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene of the crash, which occurred shortly after 5:30 yesterday.
