
Three Arraigned In High Speed Chase

Three Port Huron residents were arraigned Friday on charges stemming from a high speed police chase that occurred on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 3:34pm. The incident began in the area of Electric and 10th Street. Port Huron Police Officer Dave Conley attempted to stop the vehicle as one of the occupants, Paul Peter Gross, was wanted on 3 outstanding felony warrants for Larceny in a Building, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Domestic Violence 2nd Offense. The vehicle fled southbound on Electric into Marysville, St. Clair and Marine City. The vehicle changed direction in Marine City and began traveling northbound back towards Port Huron. The vehicle lost control at the intersection of Military Street and Reid. At that time three occupants were taken into custody, including the wanted subject. There were no injuries in the incident. As a result of the chase, 2 patrol units received minor damage. During the inspection of the suspect’s vehicle, a live Methamphetamine lab was found. Paul Peter Gross age 32 was arraigned on his original charges of Larceny in a Building, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Domestic Violence 2nd offense stemming from an incident that occurred on 2/25/13. Gross was also arraigned on new charges of Operating/Maintaining a Meth Lab, Possession of Methamphetamine and Resisting & Obstructing Officers. Bond was set at $15,000 on the earlier charges, and $50,000 on the charges from Wednesday’s incident.
Teresa Jesus Monzo age 30 was arraigned on charges of Operating/Maintaining a Meth Lab, Fleeing and Eluding 3rd Degree and Driving while License Suspended 2nd offense. Bond was set at $50,000.
Lucas James Bartley age 28 was arraigned on a charge of Operating/Maintaining a Meth Lab. Bond was set at $25,000. Preliminary examination has been set for March 12, 2013 at 1:30pm in front of Judge Cynthia Platzer on the charges stemming from Wednesday’s incident. Preliminary examination has been set for the same day in front of Judge John Monaghan for Gross on the charges stemming from 2/25/12.
