How To Make A Difference In Our Community
October 25th, 2013
Make A Difference Day is Saturday. There are a number of projects for you to become involved with including helping Henry Hudson work on his home at 1419 Lapeer Ave. in Port Huron. Work is expected to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday. You will remember that Mr. Hudson purchased the home which was slated for demolition for $1 and has been given a 90-day extension to complete work ordered by the city. He and a number of others have made great progress on the home, but the community’s help is much appreciated he says. The Times Herald Make a Difference Day project is at the Humane Society of St. Clair County SNAP office. They will be removing carpet from the reception, meeting room and education room areas.. The SNAP office is at 6177 Fred Moore Highway in China Township. Operation Transformation has planned a makeover to a resident’s yard and interior of her home. To volunteer please call OT 966-8660.
