
December The Spiral Studio Featured Artist

St. Clair County Community College’s The Spiral Studio in December will be featuring the pottery work of SC4 communication design Professor John Henry. Henry of Fort Gratiot has taught at SC4 for more than 30 years and is the college’s discipline coordinator for communication design. Henry earned a bachelor of art education from the University of Dayton in Ohio, master of arts in teaching from Antioch College in Ohio and master of arts from Norwich University in Vermont. The Spiral Studio is at Studio 1219 in Port Huron. Each month, the work of an SC4 art instructor or alumni artist is featured in The Spiral Studio. Also, beginning in December, Studio 1219 in conjunction with The Spiral Studio will host an “SC4 Artist in Action.” The “SC4 Artist in Action” events will take place twice a month, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Fridays in the first-floor display window of Studio 1219. Studio visitors will be able to watch an SC4 artist work and talk about art. The first “SC4 Artist in Action” events will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, and Friday, Dec. 16. The Spiral Studio and Studio 1219 hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For details, visit www.sc4.edu/spiral.
