Give The Gift Of Knowledge At SCCCMH
December 7th, 2011

St. Clair County Community Mental Health (SCCCMH) launches its 11th annual “Gift of Knowledge” book donation project this week. The Gift of Knowledge allows members of the community to donate money to SCCCMH which is then used to purchase books that will be placed in either the St. Clair County Public Library or the SCCCMH Reference Library, located in the SCCCMH Port Huron location on Military Street.  The books are purchased from an agency “wish list” of recently published books all focused on mental health topics. Purchases in the past have included picture books for young children, fiction and non-fiction books for older children, young adult and adult readers. Topics covered include such subjects as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism, Down syndrome, stigma, and others.  This is the 11th year that CMH has conducted the Gift of Knowledge project to place recently written books about mental health topics into the hands of the public.  Donations may be brought or mailed to: St. Clair County CMH, Attn: Gift of Knowledge, 3111 Electric Avenue, Port Huron, MI, 48060. For more information, or to make a donation, call Lisa at 810-966-3566.
