Dixon Loses Appeal
December 16th, 2011

THE TIMES HERALD – Hamin Lorenzo Dixon is staying in prison. The Michigan Court of Appeals on Tuesday rejected his bid to have his attempted murder sentence of 22-1/2 to 40 years overturned. Dixon was convicted in October 2009 of attempting to poison a Port Huron woman to keep her from testifying against him in a home burglary case. He also was convicted on that charge. Dixon’s appeal argued a long list of trial faults, ranging from improperly introduced evidence to ineffective defense counsel.
