Walmart Gives To Hunter Hospitality House

THE TIMES HERALD – Walmart has donated $20,000 to the Hunter Hospitality House in Port Huron as part of its “12 Days of Giving” Facebook campaign.   The organization, which provides housing for families who have loved ones at the hospital, was one of 10 nonprofit organizations to be recognized last week on the last day of the giving campaign.  The Hunter Hospitality House, 1010 Lincoln St., Port Huron, opened a few weeks ago. It was created in honor of founders Tracy and Jeffrey Willard’s son, Hunter Eldon Willard was born prematurely in 1991 and lived slightly more than two weeks.  Walmart has given $1.5 million to 145 organizations across the country during the campaign. More than 5,400 organizations were nominated, according to a news release from Walmart.  A panel from Walmart reviewed the submissions and selected organizations with a focus on providing basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing and baby supplies.
