Driver Gets Sentenced To Three Years In Prison For Causing Death Of His Passenger

Three years in prison was the sentence handed down Tuesday to Danny Camphausen for his actions that authorities say caused the death of Stephanie Jimenez on October 8th of last year.  Camphausen of Fort Gratiot pleaded guilty in December to driving while intoixcated, causing the crash that killed the young 26 year old mother of an eight year old.  He was originally charged with reckless driving causing death which is a 15-year felony.  Officials said Camphausen was driving on North River Road east of Wadhams Road in Clyde Township when his vehicle hit an embankment and ditch before striking a tree and rolling several times.   Reports say  Camphausen had been driving 91 mph and only hit his brakes two seconds before impact.
