January 23rd, 2012

Investigation continues into the suspicious death of a woman found this weekend at 9275 Puttygut Road in Casco Township.  Detectives from the St. Clair County Sheriff Department and crime scene technicians from the Michigan State Police Crime lab were at the home, this weekend.  According to a news release from the sheriff department, the father of a man living at the house with his girlfriend went to the house and heard strange noises. The man called 911 about 10 a.m. Saturday according to the statement.  A deputy and state police troopers went to the home, where looking through a window, a deputy saw what looked to be a dead woman. Officers also noticed bullet holes, which had exited from inside the home, on the side of the house.  They called for backup and entered the home where they found an uninjured and intoxicated man. The man, who officers describe as a person of interest in the death, was taken to St. John River District Hospital in East China Township.
