Dogs Removed From Residence
March 6th, 2012
Six dogs were removed from a residence at about 4:00 p.m. in the 1800 block of Mansfield Street in Port Huron, yesterday. Port Huron Police Officers say they received an anonymous tip to the animal control office which led them to the home that had between 6 and 8 inches of animal feces and excrement covering the floor. Reports say that while the dogs seemed to be well-fed, they were not groomed and “mangy.” The dogs were adult mixed-breed, about the size of a Labrador retriever or German shepherd. All six animals were removed from the home and taken to St. Clair County Sheriff Animal Control on Griswold Road. The owner of the residence, who was not home when officers removed the animals, could face possible animal cruelty charges. Investigation continues.
