March 21st, 2012

An accident involving a motorcyclist sent the man to the hospital last night with a “serious”  head injury after he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle on a curve on Bauman Road in Columbus Township.    Reports say the Columbus Township man was riding east on Bauman Road just east of Crawford Road about 7:10 p.m. last night  at a “high rate of speed”.  After losing control on the curve, the motorcycle left the roadway – traveling through a ditch before coming to rest against a fence.  He was thrown some  30 feet away from the bike as a result of the accident.  The man, who was wearing a helmet, was conscious when crews arrived on scene but authorities say he did not recall the accident.  Crews transported him to McLaren-Macomb hospital in Mount Clemens
