Sheriff Tim Donnellon has announced that he will seek a second term as Sheriff of St. Clair County.  According to Sheriff Donnellon,  “Despite the continuing budget crunch, my office has strived to move forward, updating and expanding services for county residents.”  Sheriff Donnellon has continued to work toward making the Sheriff’s Office more efficient and community oriented.  Highlights of his first term include: Generating over $5-million of revenue in 2011 through the housing of federal inmates, income from the Civil Division, revenues generated and cost savings from Animal Control, income from the Jail Commissary and budget reductions.  The Sheriff’s Office also has begun a basic self-defense course for women, which is being held monthly at the Michigan Road office.  In addition, Sheriff Donnellon has worked to keep the community informed through several avenues.  He has a cable television show “Serving St. Clair County” which airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. on CPHS-6 in Port Huron.  The Sheriff’s Office website, stclaircountysheriff.org has been updated and has much information about the department.  The Sheriff has also become involved in social media with a Facebook page “St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office” in legal/law.
