SCC Board Of Commissioners Expected To Take Action On Convention Center Project
April 5th, 2012
On tonight’s St. Clair County Board of Commissioners agenda, the committees will be looking at taking action on the three agreements that were submitted last week by legal counsel, Gary Fletcher in regards to the Thomas Edison properties and the building of a convention center. –those papers include an agreement between the Blue Water Area Convention and Visitors Bureau; agreement with the city of Port Huron; and the development agreement. St. Clair County Administrator Bill Kauffman, told WGRT these are priority documents that will allow all parties to close on the sale. It is expected, that following the committee’s approval tonight, the documents will then move on to the full board for final action on the 19th. The other item the board will be dealing with is a bond authorizing resolution – which provides the bond council and the county’s financial advisors the authority on the county’s behalf to move forward with the sale of the bonds. Final action will be taken on the 19th of April and then they will begin working toward the sale of the bonds. Kaufman says they are continuing to look toward the end of April, first of May for the closings.
