Mitt Romney Moves Ahead

According to reports, Mitt Romney is in the lead in the race for the Republican nomination for president, having won the majority of all the convention delegates in a three-primary sweep.  On Tuesday, the former Massachusetts governor picked up 86 delegates in Maryland, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia, the other nine delegates were won by former Pennsylvania Senator. Rick Santorum.  Tuesday marked the midway point in the race for convention delegates.  Romney currently has 658 delegates, and has won 58 percent of the primary and caucus delegates so far.  Santorum has 281 delegates. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has 135 delegates and Texas Rep. Ron Paul has 51.
