Fort Gratiot Blaze Extinquished Quickly
April 9th, 2012

Firefighters in Fort Gratiot were put to work for what ended up being a very quick job as they extinguished a chimney fire that burst out yesterday.  Reports say the blaze that saw some five-foot-high flames was quickly extinguished shortly after 6:30 p.m. yesterday.  According to officials embers that came out of the chimney of the home may have ignited pine needles on the roof at 4081 State Road in Fort Gratiot.  Minor damage was caused when firefighters had to open the ceiling to make sure the fire was out.   There were no injuries in the incident
