FBI Steps Into Investigation In Church Cyber Fraud Case
April 12th, 2012
Investigation continues in what authorities believe to be a cyber fraud case in which a large amount of money was reportedly removed from Immanuel Lutheran Church of St. Clair’s bank account by persons unknown. Seaway Community Bank reported last month, to the St. Clair Police Department, their belief that someone had hacked into a bank account held by the church in St. Clair. The Rev. Alan Schwieger, pastor of the church, told WGRT, Wednesday, that the investigation is ongoing and the FBI became involved last week. He hopes to be able to make a public statement by the end of this week.
