Board Of Commisioners Approve Issuing 9 Million Dollar - County Bond
April 20th, 2012

This week in regular session, the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners approved the issuing of a nine million dollar 30-year county bond that will be used to pay for the building of a convention center at the current Thomas Edison Inn site.  Chair Jeff Bohm says the project is progressing quickly now, with Baker College ready to put their shovel in the ground for a culinary school.  The complete project will see in addition to the culinary school and a convention center, a Twisted Rooster  restaurant and Hilton hotel .  Also at the meeting, approval was made for an agreement with the JB Real Estate company, which deals with the purchasing of the inn.
