You can fight city hall
April 26th, 2012
Recently a group of Port Huron businesses joined hands to push back against a government timetable for summer road closures on Water Street near 1-94. The effort was spearheaded by the tireless efforts of Norm Krol, owner of the Office Lounge. Few people gave this group much hope to change the plans of MDOT and the City of Port Huron. In the end, they were victorious when the timetable was changed to keep Water Street open during the critical tourism season. My dad used to say, “You can’t fight city hall.” Norm, with nearly 30 businesses and the Chamber of Commerce on his side, proved you can.
