The St. Clair County Community Resource Fair is coming tomorrow Wednesday, May 9th from 10am-3pm at SC4. This event draws close to 600 people who are homeless, in danger of becoming homeless, experiencing financial difficulty, or struggling with unemployment. The Fair offers resources, information and free services from more than 70 agencies and organization. We’ll have safe, affordable housing options, food assistance programs, dental screenings, blood pressure checks, money management programs, counseling services and much more. All attendees including participants, vendors and volunteers receive a complementary lunch, provided by the staff of Mid-City Nutrition. Also available for participants are free personal hygiene products, men’s and women’s professional attire, children’s spring and summer clothing. There will be 10 minute massages and manicures offered – and like everything else at the event, all completely free. The purpose of the event is to bring all of these services together under one roof that that a person doesn’t need to travel to each agency to get applications, forms and information – it’s all here on this day.
