Port Huron Recreation Expands To Another Township

Four townships have now joined into partnership with the Port Huron Recreation Department.  Burtchville has joined with Kimball, Fort Gratiot and Clyde to allow township residents to participate in Port Huron Recreation Department programs for the same price as city residents. The township pays the difference to the recreation department.  Burtchville Township has agreed to pay up to $5,000 for resident’s programs…Port Huron Rec sends a monthly bill to the townships for their residents, keep track of participants and costs of program. The Port Huron Recreation Department was honored as the 2012 Michigan Municipal League Community Excellence Award winner for Region 5 in March and will present at the Michigan Municipal League state conference in Mackinaw in October.  Registration for summer programs start today for Port Huron residents and tomorrow for those outside the city.
