
Fort Gratiot Lighthouse Grand Opening

The Port Huron Museum and St. Clair County Parks and Recreation Commission will be hosting the Grand Opening of the historic Fort Gratiot Light Station. After completion of the first phase renovation, the five acre grounds, Light Tower, Lightkeeper’s Duplex Building (a former two family building), and Fog Signal Building Gift Shop, are now ready for visits by the public. This is to be celebrated after 11 years of the applicationĀ process and since the Light Tower closing on August 2008.
The grand opening will be Saturday, May 19, 2012, 11:00 am to 5 pm. Celebration events will include:
