One Charged - Another Expected To Taken Into Custody Today
May 21st, 2012
A fight involving some four to five people last week led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Port Huron man who police say used a knife during the fight. William Underwood was arraigned last week on the charge of felonious assault, with a preliminary examination set for May 29 in front of District Judge Cynthia Platzer. It is reported that a 28-year-old Port Huron man was taken to a local hospital Wednesday with leg and facial injuries after police said he was involved in the fight and then was hit by a car. Police report that the fight took place near Ninth and Chestnut streets about 3:20 a.m. Wednesday. During the fight two people left, got into a Ford Taurus, and returning at a high rate of speed, hit the 28-year-old. Initially, police believed the owner of the car, a woman, was driving the vehicle, but now believe a Port Huron Township man in his 30s drove the car. That man is expected to face felonious assault charges and is expected to be taken into custody today.
